URGENT PFCSWSC MEMBERSHIP NEWS

YOUR BRISTOL ROVERS TICKET(S) MAY BE AT RISK UNLESS YOU ARE A MEMBER OF PFCSWSC.

We have discovered that there have been a few applications for tickets to the Bristol Rovers match which were made by people who may have registered on the PFCSWSC website but did not join the Portsmouth FC South West Supporters Club (from hereon PFCSWSC). As an an officially recognised Portsmouth FC supporters club, we are bound by their conditions to maintain that status, one of those conditions is that any tickets purchased through PFCSWSC are done so on behalf of registered members only. This is made very clear with every email we send that provides information on away matches.

The Secretary and I will now be verifying the list of purchasers against the membership list, if any of those who have sent money for tickets are not registered members of PFCSWSC then the money will be refunded via PayPal. Alternatively, any of you who have sent money for the tickets can still join today and therefore be eligible for the tickets. To join, please go to https://pfcswsc.co.uk/membership-form/ and complete the form online; please also pay immediately by PayPal, the option will appear once you have completed the online registration form and clicked on the “send” button.

This needs to be completed by 5pm Sunday 10th December, or your ticket money will be refunded and you will then need to make alternative arrangements elsewhere to obtain tickets – PLEASE NOTE, ONE TICKET PER MEMBER ONLY.

Two In, One Out

It’s two in and one out for Pompey as we draw closer to the season opener with Carlisle United on Saturday.

 

The departure of Paul Jones to Norwich City has paved the way for striker Noel Hunt, and defender Adam Buxton to join the Blues in a double swoop from manager Paul Cook just days before the season gets underway.

Hunt, a striker, who many may have already seen in his days at Reading, Leeds and Ipswich, has been on trial at Pompey for a few weeks now, and even featured in pre-season friendlies against Havant & Waterlooville, Sutton United, Salisbury and Bournemouth, and joins from Southend United on a one-year deal.

Buxton, another full-back to add to the list, joins from Accrington Stanley on an initial one-year deal, having turned down a new deal at the Crown Ground to make the move to Fratton Park.

Paul Jones has moved the other way, as he heads to Carrow Road to join Norwich City in the Championship after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Jones told the club’s website: “I want to thank the fans and can assure them that I always gave 100 per cent during my time at Fratton Park.

“I loved my time here and am sad to be leaving, but I received a great opportunity and they don’t come around too often.
“I wish the club well and the manager’s put together a strong squad, so I have every faith that they’ll get over the line this season.”

Jones made 64 appearances for the club after joining in 2014, and with David Forde coming in on-loan from Millwall for the season, the competition for Pompey’s number 1 jersey is slim, with only academy keeper Alex Bass to compete with.
