Last Saturday’s win over Fleetwood Town and Tuesday’s fixture against Burton Albion at Fratton Park has been added and updated.
A meeting for Portsmouth FC South West Supporters Club members is to be held on Saturday 6th October (home to Gillingham) commencing 11.00 a.m. at the Pompey Study Centre (meeting room 2) to discuss items relating to this Supporters Club. We hope to have Mark Catlin and/or a player attending the meeting too, though this has to be confirmed.
It will not be an Annual General Meeting but we do hope it will be well supported by any members who will be attending the match in the afternoon. An agenda will be sent to you all by email in due course. A full and proper AGM will be convened after the end of the season.
We will be presenting a cheque to Pompey In The Community on the pitch prior to kick off.
An email containing the information in this post will be sent out tomorrow.
After much and careful consideration, it is with deep regret that I today formally announce my resignation as Chairman of the Portsmouth FC South West Supporters Club with immediate effect.
I have enjoyed being of service to you and representing you the past eighteen months, it has of course helped that my tenure coincided with quite a fair bit of success on the pitch thus and last season.
I feel I have taken PFCSWSC as far as I can, with new members joining in recent times it is hopefully growing and can be well supported for years to come. Unfortunately I feel I will not be able to give the club the level of service that it so richly deserves, my family is the absolute pinnacle of my life and with my work now taking up a great deal of my time I have had to make the hard decision to hand the chairmanship over to another.
I’d like to thank you all for your support in the past and John Edgerton for all his work and support too. What I would highly recommend and wish is that a full and proper AGM be convened and a new chairman elected as per the Constitution. Whoever takes over I am sure will find it as enjoyable as I did.
For now, I will maintain the website until a new chairman is found, perhaps if a new committee is formed then a new post could be created as a Media Officer who could then take over the website and manage that for the group. I would also like to say that John Edgerton would make a good chairman but if he was not keen to take the role on then I hope he would remain as Secretary/Treasurer where he has provided a valuable and much respected role. If you feel you would like to become the chairman of this fantastic Supporters Club then please contact John Edgerton in the first instance by email at firstname.lastname@example.org who would be able to discuss the possibility with you further.
I will of course still remain a member of this superb group and hope to see you at Bristol Rovers and Plymouth next season at the very least.
The PFCSWSC Prediction League will be running again, still two divisions and the promotions and relegations from last season have now been made. There is a financial prize to be won by the winner and runner up of each division, though a lesser amount in Division 2. Predictions are made against all of Pompey’s League One fixtures, no cup matches or playoffs.
The Prediction League is open to all PFCSWC members and you must be a registered member of this website. Even if you join late, it is still easily possible to catch up and win. Although the prediction league officially starts on Saturday 5th August, you have until midnight Saturday 30th September to join.
There’s nothing to pay to take part, all you need to do is login to the PFCSWSC website, then using the menu at the top locate “Prediction League” and then click on “Your Predictions” and then enter your predictions against the fixture and once you’re done click on the “Save” button further down the screen. Very easy, you can even adjust your prediction right up until five minutes before kick-off.
To give you an insight, all the August fixtures for you to look at but if you wish to have a go at predicting or to try out the league then there are the two friendly matches against Bournemouth and Crawley for you to attempt.
Unlike last season, it is all integrated and locked in with your login to this website and cannot be played outside of the website structure.
To recap, if you would like to join or if you played last season, please email if you wish to take part this season. If you took part last season and do not wish to this time around then please advise.
The prediction league will be open for members as from Saturday 22nd July; at present there are two divisions of twelve players, there are plenty of place available for new players though of course will increase the number of divisions.
There is a cash prize at the end of the season, although not significant it should be able to afford you some pleasure. Naturally the prize money will be higher for the league champion, but there will be prizes for the runner up and also for the winner of Division 2 and 3.
The prediction league is open to anyone who is a member of the Portsmouth FC South West Supporters Club
